About Us. Our Vision.

Developmental Educators (also known as a DE) are qualified disability professionals.

Developmental Educators are allied health professionals, and are recognised by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and listed within the pricing arrangement under Capacity Building Supports.

My Connected Community is made up of a team of passionate practitioners,
with extensive professional and lived experience.

We all strongly believe in a flexible, holistic, and creative approach to service provision.
This means our supports adapt to meet your lifestyle, and your goals.

My Connected Community was established by Natalie Smith in 2017.

It was founded with the aim of being able to offer unique disability services, with a genuine desire to connect people to their community and celebrate what makes everybody unique.

Natalie Smith: Director and Developmental Educator

My Connected Community was created with the vision of providing distinctive disability services rooted in meaningful connections and a deep respect for individuality.

The organisation’s purpose is to unite people within their communities and to celebrate the unique qualities that each person brings.

Through my experience, I have seen firsthand the profound effect that strong, trusting relationships between clients and practitioners can have. This collaborative ‘team’ approach not only empowers individuals but also helps uncover talents, build on strengths, and achieve meaningful goals together.

I firmly believe that disability should not be a barrier to inclusion. My passion lies in partnering with education providers, employers, and local groups to foster diversity and strengthen the fabric of our communities.

Together, we can create environments where everyone is valued, supported, and able to thrive.

Our Vision

My Connected Community aspires for all individuals living with a disability to have the opportunity to become empowered citizens. With individual strengths, and needs, being respected, recognised, and supported.

Our vision is one of strong community networks;
including formal supports, friends and family, online connections, and community groups.

Our vision is one of an inclusive community which supports all citizens to develop and share their skills,
access supports, and make a valued contribution.
